10 Easy Daily Ways To Be Happy and Healthy Today

It’s getting dark out as the days seem shorter and the nights seem longer. So it’s time for you focus on infusing more light not just into your day, but your life! Here are 10 ways to start:

1. Love You… First
Are you happy? Do you like you? Do you enjoy spending time with you? In order for you to be in a happy, healthy and loving relationship, you need to first be happy, healthy and in love… with yourself. Every morning, before you get out of bed and even before you open your eyes, think of 5 things that you love most about yourself. Keep an “I Love Me: 5 Ways a Day” journal and write down those 5 things each morning. Then get out of bed with a smile on your face and an energy of love radiating from your insides out.

2. Express Gratitude- Thank you
You may think that your friends, colleagues, loved ones, and even acquaintances know how much you appreciate them, but they might not. It’s time to start letting them know. When someone does something for you, even if it’s a little daily chore like your husband taking out the garbage, let him know that you appreciate him- “thank you for taking out the garbage today. I love that you do the little things to take care of me and support us.” It might sound silly, but when you show gratitude, it circles back to you too. Give gratitude and you soon will also see just how much you mean to others too.

3. Nurture yourself- Inside Out
You spend money on expensive beauty products and procedures and drop a car payment on seriously sexy stilettos so that you can look fabulous! But what are you doing to feel fabulous? Drinking green juices and healthy food, even going on a full on cleanse isn’t just a trend. It’s a body and mind nurturing and revitalizing necessity that will up your radiance unlike any serum, injection, or Choo ever will. Nurture yourself from the inside first. Then adorn accordingly.

4. Make an Intention Board
“Intentions” (rather than “resolutions”) allow you a little leniency while still holding a basic structure that helps to keep you on track to achieve your goals. Create an intention board of images and words cut from magazines that illustrate the energy behind your goals/intentions/resolutions around your career, health, love life, and anything else that you are focusing on right now.

5. MAKE time, don’t find time.
We all have busy schedules these days so it’s hard to find time to do what we want. Rather than wait for the perfect moment to exercise or for a relaxing quiet moment, make the moment! Wake up an hour early to hit the gym or go into the office early to get your work done so you can enjoy an extra 20 minutes outside at lunch.

6. Jump on a trampoline
Spend 5-20 minutes a day jumping on a trampoline. It’s not only an instant energizer, but it gets the lymph moving- flushing out stuck toxins, recirculates the blood, fights cellulite, and tones up your butt!

7. Create a fitness bank
Every time you don’t want to workout, but do anyway, give yourself $1. Once it adds up, treat yourself to something nice like a new coat, purse or even a nice dinner out with friends. Your hard work and motivation will benefit you in the long run in more ways than one!

8. Surround yourself with motivating people
Nothing is more of a “downer” than wanting and trying to better yourself but seeking encouragement, motivation or advice from people who say- “you can’t.” Find the “You CANs” and do what they do!

9. Detox your social group if you need to
Take a look at your life and see what needs cleaning! In a bad relationship or friendship? Every time you hang out with them or even just talk to them do you feel tired, drained, sad, insecure, annoyed, angry, resentful? Be honest with yourself and the other person, and change the relationship, or if you have to- end it. Don’t just Spring clean your house or office, but clean up your life too!

10. Decide to be happy. Drop the drama!
Happiness is a decision. If you’re fine constantly being in a funk- ok. But I’m not. Do the little things that make you happy! And sometimes that’s different from what makes you comfortable. Sure you’re cozy in your box, but really… is this how you want to live your life? NO! Get out of your box, shake up your routine, do that things that truly make you happy! Then make a conscious decision to change your attitude, stop letting the little annoyances of life affect you, and decide to smile. Change your mind and your life will follow.
