Spring Must-Haves That Do Double-Duty

contributed by Style Expert- Julia Blythe

1. The denim shirt-  I’ve been wearing my mom’s vintage denim shirt since the late 90s – sadly the elbows have finally disappeared. If my past wear says anything, I think a purchase of a new one is justified for spring and all seasons in the years to come.  Urban Outfitters has plenty to choose from including this BDG one for $59.
When and how:
- Farmer’s markets with a short flower patterned skirt
- Around the house with black leggings (comfort is a virtue)

2. Peplum (ruffle at the waistline) - This Jason Wu for Target pleated peplum shirt in gold is beautiful. Online, this will set you back $23.08
When and how:
- To work with a knee length black pencil skirt
- On a date with short tailored shorts and heels

3. Color Blocking Pastels - No surprise here, pastels are to be expected in March/April. A less expensive way to incorporate this look is through denim. We’re loving these light pink skinnies from Asos at $62.67
When and how:
- With a cream colored blouse to after work happy hour
- With converse and a white tee doing errands

4. Nude - Ever since Carrie Bradshaw’s “naked dress” in SATC, I’ve had a thing for dresses in the color nude. This short and semi sheer number is from Asos and priced at $32.23
When and how:
- To a mimosa brunch with a pastel cardigan
- To the office with a cropped and closely cut black blazer
