Are you picky when it comes to the food you eat? Do you go to a restaurant and spend 15 minutes editing your order in order to ensure that it exactly meets your specific specifications to the point that the dish is completely unrecognizable and you may as well have stayed home and cooked it yourself? Turns out your fussy food preferences might not just be annoying, it’s now being considered as the newest member of a type of eating disorder. Yup, the members of the American Psychological Association have coined a name for the condition- “selective eaters” and are considering classifying it in the category of eating disorders. The Frisky, an online magazine and daily newsletter wrote all about the non-life-threatening disorder, explaining that the reason for this new harsh stigma against the persnickety is due to the risk of nutritional deficiencies that could result from, what the scientists believe can stem from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
