Food Poisoning

Contrary to the name, you don’t actually swallow a little vile of poison labeled with a skull and bones when you get food poisoning. So there isn’t one culprit to target. However, here is a list of proven ways to address the multiple (and horrible) symptoms of food poisoning.

Take It Easy On Your Stomach

Your stomach will feel sensitive  if you have suffered vomiting or diarrhea. Here is a list of foods that will be gentle on your stomach and digest easily.

Bananas

Rice

Applesauce

Toast

Yogurt

Tea

Oatmeal

Jell-O

White Bread

Porridge

Suppress That Gag Reflex

Even if all the bad stuff is out of your system, you may still feel nauseated. Here are some foods to suppress that gag reflex.

Fiber will help clean out any chemicals left in your body that may provoke nausea. Try small portions of these throughout the day:

Almonds

Walnuts

Raisins

Figs

Apricots

Popcorn

Bran

Oatmeal

Apples

Settle Your Stomach

Think of carbohydrates as a sponge. The starch in some carbs can absorb stomach acids and settle that over-active stomach. Try these absorbent carbs:

Saltines

Baked Potato

Pasta

Brown Rice

White Rice

Sweet Baked Potato

Baked Yam
